[He retired from active medical practice in 1852, moved to the home
farm until 1885, then returned to live in Pleasant Unity. The bio.
names only 3 children - Mary, Ada & Ira.]

2. Biography of Thomas H. Brinker, p. 479 of Vol. 3, "History of
Westmoreland Co., PA" by Jordan, 1906. Has more info on his medical
education & career. Says he practiced in Pleasant Unity for 6 yrs.,
then the death of his father made it necessary for him to return to the
homestead to care for his mother, and manage the farm. He remained
on the farm until the death of his mother, then returned to Pleasant Unity,
where he was still residing at the age of 88. Says Thomas & Margaret
Brinker had 8 children, but only 2 were living in 1906 -- Ira & Rebecca.

1. Biography of William Barnhart in "Old & New Westmoreland",
pp. 561-562. Also biography of his son, Cyrus Thomas Barnhart,
"Biograph. & Hist. Cyclop. of Westmoreland Co.", pp. 44-45.

2. William grew up on the Barnhart farm ("Barnhart's Mill") near
Old Hannastown, and eventually took over operation of the Mill.
He received the Mill & 42 acres in the Will of his father (see Notes
for John Barnhart, 1785-1863). He purchased 21 acres of adjacent
land 1852 from Daniel Wible (DB 33:179). William's house & land
were located along County Road 64142, just west of the present
village of Luxor.

3. In 1874, William sold his land, including the Mill, to his brother
John (DB 80:179), and moved with his family to the old Bonnet place,
about 1 mile from Mt. Pleasant. After his death in 1893, Sarah
Elizabeth moved to Greensburg (1905), where she died in 1919.
They are buried at St. John's Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
